Hummingbird Charm

A modern geometric tile pattern

A group of hummingbirds is called a 'charm', and this pattern is rather charming, don't you think? This pattern was actually about 5 years in the making. While on a visit to the Sylvan Heights Bird Park I got the idea to sketch this beloved bird in a kind of kaleidoscope-style repeating pattern around a center flower. Over time I refined it in my sketchbook and eventually my iPad Pro using Procreate. This seamless pattern somehow feels retro and new at the same time, with vibrant Spanish tile influences.
