Risograph-style Prints
A digital version of a retro printing technique
I remember having the “ah-ha!” moment as a child when I first saw color separations in a comic strip and realized that is how colors are made, at least in the print world. Now, even though I mostly create digital art, I like to incorporate the same vintage look and feel in certain projects. See below for some of my recent ventures into the world of digital Risographs!
Travel Poster Risographs
To get familiar with using Risograph Tools for Procreate by Uproot Brushes, I decided what better way than with a vintage-inspired travel poster. Miami is the city that kept popping into my head, but I hope to do more cities in the future. Check out the time-lapse video below of how I created it, as well as the different color separations!
Hummingbird Risographs
“Save the Pollinators!” That was my inspiration behind this design exercise. I took a motif from my Hummingbird Charm pattern and re-imagined it as a Risograph style print. The hard part is deciding on the color scheme…
